Overview
Alex Godofsky* is a discovery consultant with McDermott Will & Emery, whose focus is on providing innovative solutions to complex data and eDiscovery challenges. Alex collaborates with legal teams and clients to develop comprehensive discovery plans that leverage the best-in-class technology to improve efficiencies, reduce costs and align with the overall strategy of the case. His experience across all facets of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model provides legal teams and clients a clear understanding of the most important considerations and complex issues throughout the discovery phase of a case.
Alex develops defensible preservation and collection plans that meet the legal needs of the case while simultaneously addressing the business considerations of each unique client. He works with legal teams to understand how clients use data in their everyday practice and identifies strategic opportunities to achieve significant cost savings while still meeting discovery requirements.
Alex has extensive experience utilizing advanced techniques that allow case teams to quickly identify the important information in their case and reduce their overall spend on eDiscovery. He is highly skilled in Technology Assisted Review (predictive coding), and has participated in the design and negotiation of protocols related to the disclosure of predictive coding and analytics processes with both civil plaintiffs and government agencies. Alex’s innovative approaches to reviews have helped shape the Firm’s overall technique to predictive coding and complex reviews, saving millions of dollars for many of McDermott’s clients.
Prior to joining McDermott, Alex was a part of the litigation support team at an AmLaw 50 firm, where he was involved in the development of an in-house eDiscovery and litigation support provider. He is a Relativity Certified Administrator and a Relativity Assisted Review Specialist.
