Overview
Marissa Hill Daley advises private equity investors, pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, and other life sciences industry clients on a wide range of regulatory, compliance, and transactional matters related to the oversight of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). She provides regulatory counsel on issues involving risk management, product development, marketing approval, and promotional compliance matters. Marissa also advises clients through internal and government investigations, including defending clients against whistleblower qui tam suits under the False Claims Act. Marissa regularly advises on matters in connection with capital markets, financing, and M&A transactions involving FDA-regulated entities, including on cross-border transactions.
Previously, Marissa served as senior counsel in the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General (OIG), where she advised on criminal and administrative investigations and compliance matters. Earlier in her career, she worked in investigations at another major law firm in Washington, DC, prior to which she clerked at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals. While in law school, she served as editor-in-chief of the American University International Law Review.
Marissa volunteers with and is on the junior board for the DC Volunteer Lawyers Project, which aims to provide high-quality, free legal services to low-income residents in family law cases in Washington, DC. Marissa also is an adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center.
