Hunter Jackson spearheads McDermott’s global knowledge management strategy and co-leads its transformative generative artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives.

As a nationally recognized leader in legal knowledge management and AI, Hunter drives innovation through the development of cutting-edge tools, including McDermott AI, custom ChatGPT solutions, and the Firm-wide deployment of CoCounsel, to enhance efficiency and collaboration across practice groups. Hunter and his team develop unique solutions that allow lawyers to better capture, organize, and share their knowledge, ultimately delivering exceptional service to clients.

Results

Created Form Finder, a time-saving AI platform that allows M&A/private equity (PE) and finance lawyers to analyze purchase or credit agreements from opposing counsel and determine whether McDermott lawyers have previously prepared comments or fully negotiated the same type of purchase or credit agreement. Form Finder was a finalist for tech innovation awards by The American Lawyer and Financial Times and winner of Tech Enabled Corporate Department of the Year at Legalweek.
Developed an AI platform and process to profile 1,800 M&A/PE and health deals and deployed the resulting data in McDermott’s M&A/PE Deal Hub. The hub is an Amazon-style search platform used to locate past purchase agreements using a set of filters or search terms.
Developed a market study using custom AI models to review 800 health PE deals, along with a data visualization tool that allows the team to understand “what’s market” for nearly 100 of the most heavily negotiated items associated with these matters.
