Overview
María Cristina (MC) Rosales del Prado focuses her practice on international dispute resolution, with a special emphasis on international arbitration. She has experience in dealing with litigation and arbitration matters, with cross-border experience in the US, Europe, Latin America, and Asia.
Maria Cristina has also represented clients, including sovereign states, financial institutions, high-net-worth individuals, and multinational corporations, in complex litigations and arbitrations proceedings under the rules of the ICSID, ICC, DIS, LCIA, AAA, ICDR, and UNCITRAL Rules. In addition to her role as counsel, Maria Cristina also sits as arbitrator.

- Advising a Balkan State and two government-owned entities in relation to a consolidated LCIA arbitration regarding a contract dispute in connection with an investment in the tourism sector.
- Advising an Austrian company in arbitration proceedings against Romania in relation to a petrochemical refinery.
- Representing a global beverage company related to distribution agreements under AAA / ICDR Rules.
- Advising on structuring investments to ensure protection under Bilateral Investment Treaties in Latin-America, United States and Europe.
- Representing Latin American accounting firms in connection with regulatory and compliance matters before the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB).

- Representing a German financial services provider in an ICSID arbitration brought under the Energy Charter Treaty against the Kingdom of Spain. The dispute concerned Spain’s changes to its feed-in-tariff regime for renewable energy. *
- Advising Government of Albania in an ICSID arbitration arising out of the privatization scheme of Albanian state-owned entities.*
- Representing an automobile manufacturer on its defense of customer claims. *
- Representing a global industrial company in various ICC arbitration proceedings related to long term supply agreements governed by English and French laws. *
- Representing a German pharmaceutical company in DIS and ICC arbitration proceedings against its distributor arising out of the termination of distributorship agreements. *
