Overview
Maxime Delabarre focuses his practice on complex, cross-border litigations, international arbitration, and public international law. He has a wealth of experience in both international commercial and investment arbitrations, with a notable emphasis on diverse sectors such as energy and natural resources, defense, aeronautics, construction, and intellectual property.
Maxime advises clients, including sovereign states, state-owned entities, and multinational corporations, in arbitration proceedings under the rules of major institutions, including those of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), and in pure ad hoc arbitration proceedings.

- Advising a Balkan State and two government-owned entities in relation to a consolidated LCIA arbitration regarding a contract dispute in connection with an investment in the tourism sector
- Acting for a leading multinational company in an ICC arbitration relating to the infringement of intellectual property rights over a medical software
- Advising a group of investors in relation to a USD 500+ million arbitration brought against an eastern-European State under a Bilateral Investment Treaty
- Advising a third-party funder in relation to an ICC arbitration against a State over a power purchase agreement in a dispute worth approximately USD 1.5 billion
- Advising a multinational energy company in relation to ICC arbitrations against a State in a dispute related to the wrongful withdrawal of exploration permits
- Advising a multinational energy company in relation to an ICC arbitration against a State and a state-owned entity in a dispute related to the misappropriation of oil production
- Advising a State in an investment arbitration brought under the SCC Rules and the Energy Charter Treaty*
- Advising a State in multiple, high-stake, ICC arbitrations concerning the breach of a Production Sharing Agreement by contractors of oil blocs*
- Advising a government-owned electric utility company in an ICC arbitration construction of high-voltage lines*
- Acting for a high-tech company in an ICC dispute over a license-sharing agreement in the field of defense and aeronautics worth in excess of USD 50 million*
- Acting for a global industry and metals group in an ICC arbitration over the breach of a supply agreement*
