Overview
Dr. Maximilian Meyer focuses on domestic and cross-border tax advice relating to transactions, investment structuring and financings. This particularly encompasses the tax efficient structuring of fund investments in alternative assets (PE/VC, debt, RE/Infra), incl. carried interest and (employee) co-investments, both from a sponsor’s and investor’s perspective.
Prior to joining McDermott, Maximilian worked in the fund structuring team of a Big4 and spent several years in the tax team of a Magic Circle law firm. He is qualified both as a lawyer and tax advisor.

- the pension fund of a German DAX30 corporation on its acquisitions of real estate assets*
- portfolio companies of a European PE fund on several applications for issuance of a WHT exemption certificate*
- the German subsidiary of a US multinational corporation on the establishment of a joint venture regarding the wholesale business with another market player*
