Overview
Ethan H. Townsend focuses his practice on litigating corporate, securities and complex business matters. With a particular focus on litigation in Delaware’s federal and state courts, he represents companies and individuals relating to Delaware corporations and alternative entities. Ethan also handles matters in the Delaware Court of Chancery, Delaware Supreme Court and the Delaware Superior Court’s Complex Commercial Litigation Division. Ethan also represents companies in intellectual property litigation in the District of Delaware.
In addition to his trial work, Ethan works on appellate matters throughout the country, including the US Supreme Court, where he has filed numerous briefs and petitions.
Ethan also maintains a strong pro bono practice, representing individuals in several different courts of appeals.
Before entering private practice, Ethan clerked on the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the US District Court for the District of Delaware. He is a graduate of the District of Delaware Federal Trial Practice Seminar. While in law school, Ethan was the managing editor for outside articles for the Villanova Law Review.
